Microsoft Outlook: “One or more rules could not be uploaded to Exchange server and have been deactivated. This could be because some of the parameters are not supported or there is insufficient space to store all of your rules.”

An user was getting this popup message every time he tried add or modify an Outlook rule. image

User tried deleting all the Outlook rules, he was still getting this error message. My great colleague (Bob) found the solution that worked for the user. I am sharing that simple solution with you.

1. Close the Outlook and make sure it closed completely (check Task Manager)

2.  Run Outlook by typing “Outlook /CleanRules”.

Hope it helps you.
