Long back There was a email client named incrediMail that could do some tricks. I received e-mails with all kinds of pizzazz. Now you can do this with Outlook 2010. All Microsoft Word tricks can be done in Outlook 2010 Mail compose window. Here is some samples I did. Most of them you can find in Insert Tab in Mail compose window. Try some you might like it.
